IdeaCamp|DA-IICT

What's this all about?

IdeaCamp|DA-IICT is a Technology UnConference at DA-IICT. Organised by Centre for Entrepreneurship and Incubation at DA-IICT (CEID), it is an informal gathering of the creative minds dwelling in Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar twin city, looking for a platform to facilitate exchange and generation of thoughts and ideas.

IdeaCamp|DA-IICT is based on the BarCamp format.

What is BarCamp?

A BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees.

It is an interactive platform where all participants present, share, speak-up or at least be active listeners.

Why an IdeaCamp?

IdeaCampDA-IICT is an initiative to provide a common platform to budding entrepreneurs, thinkers, developers, technologists, and students from across the city to come together. It will be a 1 day event, an experiment in bringing people together in an open and collaborative environment of sharing and learning. The following quote by G.B. Shaw epitomizes the spirit of IdeaCampDA-IICT:

"If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange these ideas, then each of us will have two ideas."

Theme?

Technology. People. Ideas.

Who all should attend?

Technology enthusiasts, explorers and professionals.

Why should I attend?

To learn, meet people who share different interests, contribute, and push yourself and your thinking.

20-30 minute sessions on topics of interest. Can be a lecture, presentation, discussion, panel, or whatever format you want. To offer a session register as indicated above with session topic and tentative duration.

Anyone with something to contribute or the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join. Share your knowledge and expertise, Interact with your peers, Spark a conversation, Start a debate. When you come, be prepared to share. When you leave, be prepared to share it with the world.

Anyone is welcome to present, just register yourself and add session details to the list as required.

We would like to have some structure and have a few "pre-defined" presentations with extra time allotted for ad-hoc conversations afterwards as well as some sessions that are group/panel discussions.

In short, we'd like to have an event with some structure, but with plenty of time to interact with the presenters, talk with fellow attendees and get insights that don't find a place on ppt presentations.

We have numerous blocks available to present ideas, discuss entrepreneurship and learn about starting and running your own business. And in between, we'll even give you the floor if you like.

Here are a few random ideas for sessions:

  • Sharing your knowledge of specific technology (computing and otherwise)
  • New techniques in your artistic ventures
  • Project(s) that you would like to get off the ground, but need input on some of the missing pieces
  • Things you think people should be aware of (projects, concerns about technology, specific areas of interest, etc.)

* Add your session here
