BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees.

MiniBarCampChristchurch is being held in solidarity with various other Barcamps around the world, as part of BarCampEarth this weekend.

It's being organised at the last minute, but the BarCamp format is so light it's actually possible to get away with that.

Where to stay?

It's just a one day event, but anyone who's looking to come visit and wants to stay the night we might be able to arrange something - contact seth AT interclue DOT com urgently.

Sponsors

WiFi - Interclue, or maybe Cheap Hot Spots

Food/Beverages - ??

Schedule

  • Lunch

(Probably) at the Bohemian Restaurant/Bar, which is across the road, through the alleyway, to the left, and has a nice view over the river.

  • Afternoon

  • Dinner

We'll order Pizza, or something.

  • Evening/Party

Anyone have ideas? We could either head back to the Bohemian or just do our usual pubcrawling around at the Twisted Hop, Fat Eddies, and so on...

Proposed Sessions

Since we are constrained for Presentation Time and *Prep Time*, I suggest short sessions, maybe 10-15min+10-15min questions.

Seth and Karl from Interclue will talk about Browser Addon Development, contrasting what we know about Firefox, IE6, IE7, and others.

We should have a Planning/Brainstorming Session for a proper BarCampChristchurch to be held later in the year, perhaps over a weekend so we can attract a few more people from the rest of the country.
