MobileCampNYC

A MobileCampNYC3 event is being planned for November 15th, 2008. Sign up now!

A BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants.

MobileCampNYC is bringing together mobile enthusiasts, explorers and professionals from the NYC metropolitan area to share the current state and their visions for the future direction of mobility. MobileCampNYC hopes to support the many voices helping to unlock the potential of a truly digital life. Topics may include - but are not limited to - mobile gaming, entrepreneurship, social mobility and presence, near field communication, physical hyperlinking, mobile storytelling, the importance of open standards, protocols, and platforms, linux based devices, and mobility on other continents. (This was May'2007 - see MobileCampNYC2 for Nov'2007.)

Check out the TheRulesOfBarCamp to learn what to expect.

MobileCampNYC rocked! Thank you!

Thank you everyone who came to participate, to help with, and share an afternoon of intense and inspiring conversations, exciting workshops and thought-provoking presentations.

We also want to thank our sponsor Nseries for helping us realizing the event!

If you have presented something please upload your slides/documentation to our Google Group or link to it on this page.

If you have taken pictures or videos please share them and add the tag MobileCampNYC to it. For pictures on Flickr, you can add it to our Flickr pool.

We've also started uploading videos we shot at the event here on Google Video. Upload yours and tag it 'MobileCampNYC'

Again, we had such a great time organizing it and hope you found fresh inspiration, new friends, and a day - your day - to remember.

Sincerely, your orga-team Alexis, Beth, Indira, and Ritwik.

We are looking forward meeting up there to trigger discussions and ideas that we can delve deeper into at MobileCampNYC . Since this is all about the mobile community we encourage everyone to participate in both events.
