Speakers & Sessions
The idea of an unconference came together when people realized that the best times they were having at conferences were the times between sessions - where people with like interests could meet ad hoc. The spirit of BarCamp is to facilitate this type of interaction for an entire day. Rather than having scheduled speakers, everyone who is interested piches sessions the morning of the event. Those session receiving the highest votes are put on the schedule and groups form for itnense group learning. Yeah - you think it won't work - but it does!
How it will work
- Starting at 8:30 a.m., we will open up a scheduling wall for dessions, discussions, topics and panels.
- At 9:00 a.m., interested speakers will have 1 minute to pitch who they are, the discussion topic, and why attendees should attend their session.
- At 9:20 A.M., voting will begin and the schedule posted for the day.
Register to become a speaker at the event - be sure to also submit your topic ideas for voting as well!
Vote on sessions that will be held during Product Camp NYC. Voting in advance helps us determine if we have the right space and the right topics. We may also try to tap into the area's luminaries for panel discussions if there is enough interest in a particular area. So speak up! This is your day!
