History / Process

Following WikiSym2005 we agreed to convene a BarCamp-like event on wiki in Portland, Oregon, USA February of 2006 to provide yet another great space for the wiki community (and other collaborators of all kinds) to gather for work and play! We use OpenSpaceTechnology more than TheRulesOfBarCamp, to give a little more framing and whole-group experience. The resulting synergy is palpable - coding, an improvised video at the first event (see below), creative games, energizing conversations about society & code, and connection among people that are still growing.

 

Since then, RecentChangesCamps have been held once or twice a year, so far in Portland, Montréal (RoCoCo) and Palo Alto. See http://recentchangescamp.org/ for links to all of the conference websites.
