Remote Topics

Our location this year has a very special feature: a boardroom with video-conferencing capabilities! We are investigating if there are other facilities with similar video-conferencing rooms to enable remote participants as well as remote moderators; however, if all else fails, we will fall back to using Skype to enable remote moderators to present their session.

 

As such, we'd like to be able to solicit session speakers from outside of Vancouver to submit sessions they'd like to moderate from a remote location. What local perspective would you like to bring to BarCamp Vancouver? Or, who would you really like to see bring something to BarCamp Vancouver?

 

  • Unplugging from Location: Technology Implications for 2009. The proposed presentation would be a follow up on my co-presentation with Darren and Julie on remote working. The presentation would be given from my sailboat, via Skype (submitted Sept 12th)

 

Due to coordination logistics, remote sessions will be scheduled in advance rather than at the Scheduling Jam. Remote sessions will be chosen by online voting starting September 11th - voting will close September 25th. The deadline to submit your topic is September 11th!
