Planning for BarCampMelbourne 2009
BCM'09 will be held on the 12th and 13th Sept 2009 at UrbanCamp with capacity for 110 people.
TODO
- We need to write the articles for Sitepoint to get our money
UPDATE: Alec Clews is writing article on Git, not sure who else is writing articles
- We need to raise enough money to cover the cost of UrbanCamp (a couple of grand)
UPDATE: Event Partnership Program submission made to City of Melbourne 22 May 09, 12 weeks for consideration.
They usually don't fund conferences, so getting funding is going to be doubtful from this source....
- The website needs to be done up reasonably quickly so we can get the word out there
UPDATE: WordPress MU and BuddyPress have been set up on Ben's host - action with Kathy to get them working/looking good enough to release
-
Favicon has been updated, but doesn't seem to be working in Firefox - need to check
RESOLVED: Kathy needed to do a cache refresh
-
The base Theme has been updated but members/groups seems to still be the old theme - need to figure out how to retheme it
RESOLVED: Has been rethemed
-
Need to copy the content from the old website over to the new website
-
Need to install Cforms on the website so we can have a contact form / any other forms
RESOLVED: Basic contact form has been updated. Not pretty, but workable.
-
Need to do a Google map with the UrbanCamp venue on it and surrounding information
UPDATE: Map started, shared with Ben. Bare bones only at this stage. KathyReid doesn't know the area very well, might be better done by someone else
-
Need to identify the public transport routes to Royal Park
-
Need OK from people to use their previous photographs on the website
UPDATE MichaelTwoFish OK
- We need to get the logo organised so it can be used on advertising and documents etc
UPDATE: Logo sent to organisers@barcampmelbourne.org list for feedback 25 Apr
RESOLVED: Logo v2 is the version that will be used
- We need to start advertising BCM'09 now - I'll set up a new blog for barcampmelbourne.org soon.
