In addition to speaking, volunteering, and attending, here are some ways that individuals and organizations can support and help bring to life History Camp
Organizations
- Providing the space for the event: IBM and the folks at the IBM Client Center Cambridge are generously making their space available at no cost.
- Wiley is providing financial support to help underwrite the cost of lunch so that History Camp can be free for all.
- TrekSolver is helping underwrite the cost of coffee and more in the morning.
- The History List is helping underwrite food and drink in the afternoon.
- Hstry is making a financial contribute to help offest other costs.
Is your organization interested in having a table to hand out material or do a demo in exchange for a donation to help cover the costs of History Camp? If you would like to participate as a supporter, let us know (Lee Wright). This is an all-volunteer effort and our goal is to break even. Thanks to the organizations above and the individual supporters below, we're close.
Individuals
- Individuals can support the event for $25 and will receive the event t-shirt as well as contribute to paying for lunch. There is also a free registration option.

Authors
- What about having places for authors to sell their books and asking for a donation? $20? More? Less? If you are an author and think this is something you'd like to do, add the name of your book (feel free to include a link for more information on your or your book), your name (with a link to your e-mail address), and the amount you will donate to this section of the wiki. We realize that your participation and donation are contingent on date and location that will work for you. Be sure and sign up for the mailing list for updates.
Managing money and ensuring transparency
- As noted above, History Camp will be free for anyone who wishes to attend.
- Like other barcamps I'm aware of, there is no formal legal structure, and a volunteer handles the money. If you're interested in being that volunteer, let me know. (Lee Wright) Whoever that is will publish an account of income and expenses here; other organizers and any interested volunteers are welcome to follow along or review after the fact.
