Outreach to specific groups
Add your name and the organizations you will contact and also add your name to that section of the Volunteers page. For most, we should probably wait until we have a date and location.
- Lee Wright: These history organizations and associations: NEMA (post to LinkedIn group on 12/19/13), AASLH, ALHFAM, Freedom Trail Foundation (note to Matt 12/18/13), Boston By Foot (note to Samantha 12/18/13), MassHistPres, USS Constitution (note to Eric 12/18/13), USS Constitution Museum (note to Jodie 12/18/13), Civil War Roundtable of Dallas (post to LinkedIn group 12/18/13), NEHGS, National History Club, National History Bowl.
- Lee Wright: These groups of societies: Charles River, Blackstone Valley, and the Pioneer Valley History Network.
- Alli Rico: Sent email to Kathy Jones, assistant director of the Museum Studies program at Harvard University's Extension School. Will hang fliers up at the Waterworks Museum, Harvard Museum of Natural History volunteer lounge. Will post to Facebook, Twitter, and blog.
- Liz Covart got the word out through her networks.
- Jen Deaderick is setting up a Press page, a FAQ page (using info put together by Lee Wright), then contacting media (WGBH, Boston Globe, others) about the event. She is also ramping up for a social media onslaught. Lee set up an email address for the press that will reach both him and Jen: press@historycamp.org.
